Step Up From Mobile Pics With Eye-Fi

If you are like me, you use your mobile phone or tablet to take pictures for personal use or for online content. Why? It's just easier to get photos posted online than with a regular camera. Eye-Fi cards are a great product that allow you to use a better camera than your mobile to automatically sync photos with your computer or online account.

Yes, that's right. As soon as you hit a WiFi hotspot or your own private wireless network, the card starts to automatically upload your photos to your computer and/or your online album on Picasa, Facebook, Flickr, or many others.

As a blogger, you don't always spend a great deal of time thinking of and producing professional content, let alone wanting to deal with taking pics, removing the memory card, or finding the sync cable for that one photo you want to go with your post. It's too much hassle. You'll lose your inspiration after searching through drawers for your card reader or cable.

In my case, I've chosen to have my pics upload to my Picasa account. I tried uploading pics to albums organized by dates; but, I came to realize it would become a mess with time. So, I have them all upload to a single folder.

It makes the whole blogging process easier. I can start typing up a post while the camera uploads the pics on its own. By the time I'm done, I just look through my Picasa folders and choose the pic I want. Done.

I definitely recommend Eye-Fi for the simplicity in getting photos off your camera and into wherever you need them.

Eye-Fi even has one card model that uses GPS to tag your photos. It's a neat feature that adds that extra layer of information, if you're into that stuff.
