There is no interest paid from the Wal-Mart money card. This is strictly a debit card. The benefit to using this card is that you have access to your funds immediately. Even when Wal-Mart cashes a check for you, the money is available right away.

If you move your money into a Sharebuilder account, you can keep your cash balance in a money market fund until you buy some type of security.

In the end, the Wal-Mart money card is a good way to move money around for people who would not otherwise be able to participate in traditional money management.

This is something I’ll be looking into. $1000 a month needs to be paid in not to have fees. That’s quite a bit.

What kind of interest is on this account that needs to be filled so much?

If you’ve put money in the account, how quickly can you take it out again and what are the costs?

Maybe I should just go and look at the account myself.
