The Hispanic Engineering, Science, and Technology Program (HESTEC) at the University of Texas Pan American is an annual event that aims to encourage hispanics to pursue careers in Science and technology by showcasing successful people in those fields. The event is co-organized through the office of Congressman Ruben Hinojosa.

Hi I am Felicia Rivera 11 years old and I would like to participate in HESTEC 2008. I have placed 1st place in my district science fairs 3 years in a row. I would like to participate this year by singing Los Laureles, I am bilingual and I think since HESTEC has to do with hispanics and sicence I would like to sing and preform. Thank you, Felicia
