South Texas College is hosting the 2007 Information Technology Symposium at the McAllen Convention Center. Topics discussed are emerging technologies in teaching and learning, and collaborative differentiation.

  1. Realizing this is months late, what was the outcome of this event? Was it worthwhile? Well attended?

  2. Yes, it was well attended. I think it was a great first attempt by STC. The speakers mostly focused on using information technology in the field of education. Some of it concrete, some theoretical. In any case, they did have interesting topics. In the second part of the event, there was some fascinating discussion about computer security and the major actors in spamming and malware creation. I did not get to stay for the whole event as I had to go to work, but I would attend this year’s.
