Using Facebook

Chris Brogan has written a post titled How I Use Facebook ( http://grasshopperfactory.com/cbc/how-i-use-facebook/). I am on Facebook myself. I have to say that I am enjoying it much more now than I did when I first signed up. This was before they opened up the API. It is simply easier to be a part of a community on Facebook than on other social networks.
One thing that makes Twitter great for me is that I know what’s going on with my friends as soon as I log in. Facebook is the same way. You know who friended whom. You can see who uploaded pics, who wrote on somebody’s wall, and all manner of updates. In short, your main page gets you up to speed in no time.
What is really awesome about Facebook is that it lets you interact in even more ways than was originally intended. Now, I can share my Netflix, Twitter, Zoho, Flickr, podcast, and so much more without cluttering up my home page and killing my friends’ browsers. Facebook allows you to interact with your friends on a whole new level.
There are features, like messaging, picture sharing, video sharing, groups, and such that are standard fare on other networks. Why is Facebook different? The best I can think of is that Facebook wants you to socialize rather than primp. I state this because that’s exactly what I find myself doing when I’m logged in.
