While visiting JohnChow.com tonight, I read about the WordPress Live plugin. The plugin allows you to watch page hits, feed hits, and comments on your blog in real time. This can work in one of two ways for you. You’ll either be extremely disappointed at how sad your site is, like me; or, you will be excited to see how successful your blog is in reaching people.
John Chow includes a video that shows the traffic that his site receives as it comes in, which is incredible. I have nowhere near that level of traffic, although I’ve had a few big spikes here and there. Curiosity led me to download and install the plugin on my blog. Thus far, it’s crickets chirping. Perhaps someday I’ll be able to watch and track all the wonderful traffic pouring in. For now, I won’t quit my day job. Watch John’s video to see the plugin in action.
