I don’t think that ‘nofollow’ has prevented spamming. It’s still rampant.

I have the ‘nofollow’ removed from my blogs for some time now and I don’t think there has been any difference in spam.

Well, if Google does decide not to follow comment links, then there is no harm done. The links would simply stop working. You’re right. In the short term, it probably is worthwhile.

Hi,

Everybody loves links. Even the google bot, but it does not like non- genuine links.

For instance, some time ago, google had a controversy over following paid links.

Now for a spider or a crawler to identify the paid links from non-paid is almost impossible.

But in most CMS , including wordpress and blogspot, it is very easy to identify comments from content. The algorithm to detect comments as links is quite easy.

do – follow may go void, if google thinks so. So do you think , it is worth all these?

But still, it does good in the short term..

Surprisingly, there hasn’t been a deluge of spamments. Things have been pretty tame. Good luck, I hope it works for you.

I’d have to say that perhaps the best benefit I have experienced is an increase in comments from readers. Interaction is ultimately my goal. Beyond that, I couldn’t say what other benefits this plugin brings.

I have to believe that this has been one of the best plugins created because of the impact it has created in helping a lot more people become social because of it. What benefits have you seen?
