Goals and Habits

I was just reading Turning Habits Into Goals. I was a little confused at first, but on a second reading it made sense. You would normally set a goal and reach it if it’s a simple goal. In some cases, however, your goal may involve something that requires consistent attention or practice. For example, if you want a beautiful garden, you need to put some work into gardening (or hire somebody to do it). Another example that illustrates the point is physical fitness, you’ve got to work at it to maintain it. The point is that some goals require constant work. Therefore, in order to achieve your goal, you must first develop a habit that yields your goal. Once you establish the habit, you will have your goal in perpetuity. Thus, a habit turns into a goal.
